Whether you choose near or far, O Agni, pouring forth with many streams, whether in the heaven's ample spaces or fertile plains, do not direct your hostile skill against us.
Blazing Agni, you destroy many a shrub, as you burn; and (the sites) of the tilled fields are laid waste, may we never rouse to anger your terrible flame.
And thou, O Agni, thou of Godlike nature, sparest the stones, while caring up the brushwood. Then are thy tracks like deserts in the corn-lands. Let us not stir to wrath thy mighty arrow.
