O Indra, in your friendships you upheld the law; you, mindful, stirred the rolling flood. Where the ten-streamed foe pressed, where waters raged, you, remembered, restrained them.
The bearers of oblations (the Aṅgirasas), Indra honouring the sacrifice, have through your friendshiptorn Vala to pieces, when praise (being offered) desiring to give the dawns to Kutsa (you were engaged in)freeing the waters, and Ahi's exploits (were foiled).
ALLIED with thee in friendship, Indra, these, thy priests, remembering Holy Law, rent Vrtra limb from limb, When they bestowed the Dawns and let the waters flow, and when thou didst chastise dragons at Kutsa's call.
