putramiva pitarāvaśvinobhendrāvathuḥ kāvyairdaṃsanābhiḥ yatsurāmaṃ vyapibaḥ śacībhiḥ sarasvatī tvā maghavannabhiṣṇak
Like fathers to sons the Ashvins harnessed the gods with rich songs and offerings. They who drank the sacred drink with Shachi—Sarasvatī, may you be generous and auspicious to the noble one.
Both the Aśvins defended (you), Indra, like two fathers (defending) a son with glorious exploits; when(triumphing) through the deeds of valour, you drank the grateful libation, Sarasvatī approached you, OMaghavat.
As parents aid a son, both Asvins, Indra, aided thee with their wondrous Powers and wisdom. When thou, with might. hadst drunk the draught that gladdens, Sarasvati, O Maghavan, refreshed thee.
