This light, this splendid glory—may it reveal the atmosphere between the peaks. Strike down Vṛtra, Soma; having offered the oblation, perform the sacrifice with holy homage.

(Agni or Varuṇa speak). This, O Soma, is heaven; this verily was beautiful this (was) the light, thebroad firmament; let us together slay Vṛtra; come forth; we worship with an oblation you who are yourselfoblation.

Here is the light of heaven, here allis lovely; here there is radiance, here is air's wide region. Let us two slaughter Vrtra. Forth, O Soma! Thou art oblation: we therewith will serve thee.
