The god of gods, with his ritual power, brought us the first offering to be praised. He, the smoke-banner, the fire-sign, the bounteous bringer, the steadfast oblation-receiver—may speech be worshipped.
Do you, bright (Agni), surrounding the gods, carry our oblation with due rites; you, who are the chief(of the deities), the wise, the smoke-bannered, fuel-kindled, straight-flaming, adorable, the invoker, the constantsacrificer with prayer.
As God comprising Gods by Law Eternal, bear, as the Chief who knoweth, our oblation, Smoke-bannered with the fuel, radiant, joyous, better to praise and worship, Priest for ever.
