ए॒वाग्निर्मर्तैः॑ स॒ह सू॒रिभि॒र्वसुः॑ ष्टवे॒ सह॑सः सू॒नरो॒ नृभिः॑ । मि॒त्रासो॒ न ये सुधि॑ता ऋता॒यवो॒ द्यावो॒ न द्यु॒म्नैर॒भि सन्ति॒ मानु॑षान्
evāgnirmartaiḥ saha sūribhirvasuḥ ṣṭave sahasaḥ sūnaro nṛbhiḥ mitrāso na ye sudhitā ṛtāyavo dyāvo na dyumnairabhi santi mānuṣān
Thus Agni among mortals is with the heroes and riches, numerous like sons with men. Mitras, those whose minds are right, the realms and heavens are not with the thunderers against men.
In this manner, Agni, the son of strength, is glorified by (us his) worshippers, together with piousmortals, for the sake of wealth-- (his worshippers) who, like delighted friends, desiring the sacrifice, like shining(ones), overcome (hostile) men through his might.
Thus noble Agni with princes and mortal men is lauded, excellent for conquering strength with chiefs, Men who are well-disposed as friends and true to Law, even as the heavens in majesty surpass mankind.
