Agni is called the supporter; the giver, the fire in the forest gives ashes to the youthful. They offered with oblations and the hymn at the household door; the strong bulls were placed.
The most active Agni, the giver of wealth, is nourished with ghī (by the worshippers), he who withflaming tooth devours the forests; devoutly worshipped with the uplifted goblet (he is, nourished) like a lordlywell-fed bull amidst (fresh) pasture.
Then Agni was his name, most active to bestow, gathering up the trees with his consuming tooth; Skilled in fair sacrifice, armed with destroying tongue, impetuous as a bull that snorteth in the mead.
