चि॒त्र इच्छिशो॒स्तरु॑णस्य व॒क्षथो॒ न यो मा॒तरा॑व॒प्येति॒ धात॑वे । अ॒नू॒धा यदि॒ जीज॑न॒दधा॑ च॒ नु व॒वक्ष॑ स॒द्यो महि॑ दू॒त्यं१॒॑ चर॑न्
citra icchiśostaruṇasya vakṣatho na yo mātarāvapyeti dhātave anūdhā yadi jījanadadhā ca nu vavakṣa sadyo mahi dūtyaṃ1 caran
Chitra, the eager youth’s desire, do not let the mother slip from her seat among the clans. If one returns the vivifying gift, carry promptly the messenger across the land.
Wonderful is the conveyance of (the oblation by) the tender infant, who does not come to his parentsto drink, although the udderless (world) gave him birth; he immediately bears (the oblation to the gods) fulfillingthe important office of their messenger.
VERILY wondrous is the tender Youngling's growth who never draweth nigh to drink his Mothers' milk. As soon as she who hath no udder bore him, he, faring on his great errand, suddenly grew strong.
