Awaken, ancestors! The old man will behold the treasure, the slayer will long for the heart. Fire parts and is seen; the mouth is soothed, the unholy trembles—mind flutters.
Wake up the parents, as the Sun his splendour; (the worshipper) desires to offer worship to (thedeities) who are plural ased by it; with all his heart he wishes (to do so); he desires to repeat (your praise); thebearer (of the oblation) is anxious to effect the good work; the sacrifice longs for augmentation, the prudent(sacrificer) trembles in his thoughts.
Urge thou thy Parents, as a lover ' to delight: the Lovely One desires and craves it from his heart. The priest calls out, the sacrificer shows his skill, the Asura tries his strength, and with the hymn is stirred.
