Ever are you the vigorous, nourishing priest among men, O Agni, supporter of duty. Or when you, accepted by the seer, utter the sacred Ṛg-verse and offer the hundredfold prize, you grant abundant might.
You, Agni, are ever plural asing (to your worshippers), as pasture satisfies (the herds); bewell-worshipped with man's sacrifices; if commending the praise of the wise, and partaking of the (sacrificial)food, you come with many (divinities of the rite).
Still art thou kind to him who feeds thee as with grass, and, skilled in sacrifice, offers thee holy gifts. When thou, having received the sage's strengthening food with lauds, after long toil, cornest with many more.
