They declared first: a sinless Brahma‑cow, a spring of pure motherly milk. Veil‑bearing, fierce, the might of the waters arose—goddess, firstborn by the ritual.
These spoke first about Brahmā's sin, the boundless (sun), the water- god (Varuṇa), the wind-god(Vāyu), the fierce, wide-consuming fire, the source of happiness, (Soma), the divine waters, the first-born sonsof the truthful (Brahmā).
THESE first, the boundless Sea, and Matarisvan, fierce-glowing Fire, the Strong, the Bliss-bestower. And heavenly Floods, first-born by holy Order, exclaimed against the outrage on a Brahman.
