viṣṇuritthā paramamasya vidvāñjāto bṛhannabhi pāti tṛtīyam āsā yadasya payo akrata svaṃ sacetaso abhyarcantyatra
Vishnu, traverser of the highest stride, measured out the great third; his thought was that from which the waters were made. They worship him with lifted minds where his rivers flow—
May he, who as soon as manifested is vast and wise, and thus (universally) pervading, defend (me),his third (manifestation); and when (the worshippers) ask with their mouths for his own water, animated by onepurpose, they praise him in this world.
Here, being manifested, lofty Visnu, full wise, protects his own supremest station. When they have offered in his mouth their sweet milk, to him with one accord they sing forth praises.
