pratyarcī ruśadasyā adarśi vi tiṣṭhate bādhate kṛṣṇamabhvam svaruṃ na peśo vidatheṣvañjañcitraṃ divo duhitā bhānumaśret
Facing east the radiant one of Rudra saw and stood; he afflicts the black ones. In the ways the bright ones do not enter; by the wondrous sky the cow of light gave milk to the shining Bhānu.
Her brilliant light is first seen towards (the east); it spreads and disperses the thick darkness; she anoints her beauty as the priests anoint the sacrificial food in sacrifices; the daughter of the sky awaits the glorious sun.
We have beheld the brightness of her shining; it spreads and drives away the darkiorne monster. Like tints that deck the Post at sacrifices, Heaven's Daughter hath attained her wondrous splendour.
