क्रत्वा॑ म॒हाँ अ॑नुष्व॒धं भी॒म आ वा॑वृधे॒ शवः॑ । श्रि॒य ऋ॒ष्व उ॑पा॒कयो॒र्नि शि॒प्री हरि॑वान्दधे॒ हस्त॑यो॒र्वज्र॑माय॒सम्
kratvā mahām̐ anuṣvadhaṃ bhīma ā vāvṛdhe śavaḥ śriya ṛṣva upākayorni śiprī harivāndadhe hastayorvajramāyasam
Having fashioned a great and fearful thunder, you mounted the steed and increased the host. You gave splendor to the seers and to the pious; you placed the thunderbolt in mighty hands for the spoil.
Mighty through sacrifice, formidable (to foes), partaking of the sacrificial food, Indra has augmented his strength; plural asing in appearance, having a handsome chin, and possessing (bright) coursers, he grasps the metal thunder-bolt in his contiguous hands for (our) prosperity.
Mighty through wisdom, as he lists, terrible, he hath waxed in strength. Lord of Bay Steeds, strong-jawed, sublime, he in joined hands for glory's sake hath grasped his iron thunderbolt.
