O Agni, knowing one lives by the moving air across the lands; the wise know the path within. The messenger of the gods became the priest at the ritual-place, the oblation-bearer at the sacred ways.
Agni, who are cognizant of all things to be known, ever provide for the subsistence of men, grief-alleviating (food); so shall you be the diligent bearer of oblations, and messenger of the gods, knowing the paths between (earth and heaven), by which they travel.
Thou, Agni, knower of men's works, hast sent us good food in constant course for our subsistence: Thou deeply skilled in paths of Gods becamest an envoy never wearied, offeringbearer.
