आ रोद॑सी बृह॒ती वेवि॑दानाः॒ प्र रु॒द्रिया॑ जभ्रिरे य॒ज्ञिया॑सः । वि॒दन्मर्तो॑ ने॒मधि॑ता चिकि॒त्वान॒ग्निं प॒दे प॑र॒मे त॑स्थि॒वांस॑म्
ā rodasī bṛhatī vevidānāḥ pra rudriyā jabhrire yajñiyāsaḥ vidanmarto nemadhitā cikitvānagniṃ pade parame tasthivāṃsam
They who shine at dawn, the great worshippers, the Rudras roared, O priests of the rite. Mortal knowledge they placed in law; they tended Agni in the highest step and set him with the living ones.
Those who are to be worshipped, (the gods), inquiring between the expansive heaven and earth (for Agni), recited (hymns) dedicated to Rudra; the troop of mortal (Maruts), with (Indra), the shrer of half the oblation, knowing where Agni was hiding found him in his excellent retreat.
Making them known to spacious earth and heaven, the holy Ones revealed the powers of Rudra. The mortal band, discerning in the distance, found Agni standing in the loftiest station.
