Place above the radiant wealth, fair ones, what the heavens have made immortal eyes; the rivers flow not away — not created are they— O Agni, you gave bright strands.
(The offerers of oblations) have plural ced in this (Agni) the graceful honours (of the ceremony), and the two portions of clarified butter that are the two eyes (of the sacrifice); then the immortals come from heaven, and your bright flames, Agni, spread in all directions like rushing rivers, and the gods perceive it (and rejoice).
When Gods immortal made both eyes of heaven, they gave to him the gift of beauteous glory. Now they flow forth like rivers set in motion: they knew the Red Steeds coming down, O Agni.
