We offer greeting and praise to you, great Angiras, bestower of offerings to the dead and of the Sama. By you our earlier fathers, performing rites, found the foothold; Angiras discovered them.

Do you, priests, offer to the vast and most powerful, Indra, earnest veneration, a chant fit to be sung aloud; for through him our forefathers, the Aṅgirasas, worshipping him, and knowing the footmark, recovered (the stolen) cattle.

Unto the great bring ye great adoration, a chant with praise to him exceeding mighty, Through whom our sires, Angirases, singing praises and knowing well the places, found the cattle.
