O great one, inspire mighty thought in the broad expanse, sustain firm resolve for the truth. As waters flow, whose difficult path was uncovered, the ruinous stronghold was disclosed.
I offer especial praise to the most bountiful, the excellent, th eopulent, the verily powerful and stately Indra, whose irresistible impetuosity is like (the rush) of waters down a precipice, and by whom widely-diffused wealth is laid open (to his worshippers) to sustain (their) strength.
To him most liberal, lofty Lord of lofty wealth, verily powerful and strong, I bring my hymn,- Whose checkless bounty, as of waters down a slope, is spread abroad for all that live, to give them strength.
