O goddess, if you, like a life-giver, arouse Indra, not the sun that binds by thirst — he who, by harsh boldness, assails with slaughter, him Renu, the mighty, drives back with fierce rejoicing.
Divine strength waits, like the sun upon the dawn, upon that Indra who is made more powerful for protection by you, (his worshipper), who with resolute vigour resists the gloom, and inflicts severe castigation uon his enemies, making them cry aloud (with pain).
When Strength the Goddess, made more strong for help by thee, waits upon Indra as the Sun attends the Dawn, Then. he who with his might unflinching kills the gloom stirs up the dust aloft, with joy and triumphing.
