तं गू॒र्तयो॑ नेम॒न्निषः॒ परी॑णसः समु॒द्रं न सं॒चर॑णे सनि॒ष्यवः॑ । पतिं॒ दक्ष॑स्य वि॒दथ॑स्य॒ नू सहो॑ गि॒रिं न वे॒ना अधि॑ रोह॒ तेज॑सा
taṃ gūrtayo nemanniṣaḥ parīṇasaḥ samudraṃ na saṃcaraṇe saniṣyavaḥ patiṃ dakṣasya vidathasya nū saho giriṃ na venā adhi roha tejasā
They bound him with cords, enclosed like bridles, restrained like beasts; they did not traverse the sea in motion. The lord of Daksha, skilled and famed, did not ascend the mountain by force of vigor.
His adorers, bearing oblations, are thronging round (him), as (merchants) covetous of gain crowd the ocean (in vessels) on a voyage ascend quickly, with a hymn to the powerful Indra, the protector of the solemn sacrifice, as wome (climb) a mountain.
To him the guidance-following songs of praise flow full, as those who seek gain go in company to the flood. To him the Lord of power, the holy synod's might, as to a hill, with speed, ascend the loving ones.
