By his own rain, battling in his might, like the lordly Raghu, the thunderous ones roared. Indra, bearing the bolt, vehemently broke the ranks of the blind like a chariot breaking through a throng threefold.
His allies, exhilarated (by libations), preceded him, warring against the withholder of the rain, as rivers rush down declivities. Indra, animated by the sacrificial food, broke through the defences of Vala as did Trita through the coverings (of the well).
To him, as in wild joy he fought with him who stayed the rain, his helpers sped like swift streams down a slope, When Indra, thunder-armed, made bold by Soma draughts, as Trta cleaveth Vala's fences, cleft him through.
