uvāsoṣā ucchācca nu devī jīrā rathānām ye asyā ācaraṇeṣu dadhrire samudre na śravasyavaḥ
Dawn has come forth, goddess, arise in the chariots now; those who held fast to these rites became steadfast, they are not unheard of in the sea.
The divine Uṣas has dwelt (in heaven of old); may she dawn today, the excitress of chariots which are harnessed at her coming, as those who are desirous of wealth (send ships) to sea.
Usas hath dawned, and now shall dawn, the Goddess, driver forth of cars Which, as she cometh nigh, have fixed their thought on her, like glory-seekers on the flood.
