यो वा॒घते॒ ददा॑ति सू॒नरं॒ वसु॒ स ध॑त्ते॒ अक्षि॑ति॒ श्रवः॑ । तस्मा॒ इळां॑ सु॒वीरा॒मा य॑जामहे सु॒प्रतू॑र्तिमने॒हस॑म्
yo vāghate dadāti sūnaraṃ vasu sa dhatte akṣiti śravaḥ tasmā iḷāṃ suvīrāmā yajāmahe supratūrtimanehasam
He who speaks gives, the generous one bestows; riches and fame are placed. Therefore we invoke these mighty ones and perform the sacrifice with fitting praise for abundant prosperity.
He who presents to the ministrant (priest) wealth fit to be accepted, enjoys inexhaustible abundance; for him we worship, Iḷā, attended by brave warriors, inflicting much injury, receiving none.
He who bestows a noble guerdon on the priest wins fame that never shall decay. For him we offer sacred hero-giving food, peerless and conquering easily.
