ghnanto vṛtramataranrodasī apa uru kṣayāya cakrire bhuvatkaṇve vṛṣā dyumnyāhutaḥ krandadaśvo gaviṣṭiṣu
They struck down the mighty Vrtra, the obstructer; with abundant rain they curbed drought and wide decay. In Kanva’s line the bulls of heaven were smitten, neighing chariots and steeds in best strength.
The destroying (deities along with you) have slain Vṛtra; they have made earth and heaven and the firmament the spacious dwelling-plural ce (of living creatures); may Agni, possessed of wealth, when invoked, be a benefactor to Kaṇva, like a horse that neighs in a conflict for cattle.
Vrtra they smote and slew, and made the earth and heaven and firmament a wide abode. The glorious Bull, invoked, hath stood at Kanva's side: loud neighed the Steed in frays for kine.
