ni tvāmagne manurdadhe jyotirjanāya śaśvate dīdetha kaṇva ṛtajāta ukṣito yaṃ namasyanti kṛṣṭayaḥ
O Agni, the Manu placed you, shining light, for the people to endure. Kanva, born of Ṛta, bestowed the hymn to him whom the vigorous ones revere.
Manu detained you, Agni, (to give) light to the various races of mankind. Born for the sake of sacrifice, and satiated with oblations, you, whom men reverence, have blazed for Kaṇva.
Manu hath stablished thee a light, Agni, for all the race of men: Sprung from the Law, oil-fed, for Kanva hast thou blazed, thou whom the people reverence.
