अ॒भीवृ॑तं॒ कृश॑नैर्वि॒श्वरू॑पं॒ हिर॑ण्यशम्यं यज॒तो बृ॒हन्त॑म् । आस्था॒द्रथं॑ सवि॒ता चि॒त्रभा॑नुः कृ॒ष्णा रजां॑सि॒ तवि॑षीं॒ दधा॑नः
abhīvṛtaṃ kṛśanairviśvarūpaṃ hiraṇyaśamyaṃ yajato bṛhantam āsthādrathaṃ savitā citrabhānuḥ kṛṣṇā rajāṃsi taviṣīṃ dadhānaḥ
Wrapped in blackness, of many forms, gold-dawning, when offered he expanded greatly. Savita, the bright-shining, mounted the chariot and set the black dust as the poisonous seat.
The many-rayed adorable Savitā, having power (to disperse) darkness from the world, has mounted his nigh-standing chariot, decorated with many kinds of golden ornaments, and furnished with golden yokes.
His chariot decked with pearl, of various colours, lofty, with golden pole, the God hath mounted, The many-rayed One, Savitar the holy, bound, bearing power and might, for darksome regions.
