The troops of the incapable were bent on fight, new in battle-rage; nine steeds yoked to earth moved. Indra, smiting many, stripped the war-gear not lost, and the foes fell by his words.
(The adherants of Vṛtra) encountered the army of the irreproachable (Indra); men of holy lives encouraged him. Scattered before him, conscious (of their inferiority), like the emasculated contending with men, they fled by precipitous paths.
They met in fight the army of the blameless. then the Navagvas put forth all their power. They, like emasculates with men contending, fled, conscious, by steep paths from Indra, scattered.
