अनु॑ स्व॒धाम॑क्षर॒न्नापो॑ अ॒स्याव॑र्धत॒ मध्य॒ आ ना॒व्या॑नाम् । स॒ध्री॒चीने॑न॒ मन॑सा॒ तमिन्द्र॒ ओजि॑ष्ठेन॒ हन्म॑नाहन्न॒भि द्यून्
anu svadhāmakṣarannāpo asyāvardhata madhya ā nāvyānām sadhrīcīnena manasā tamindra ojiṣṭhena hanmanāhannabhi dyūn
Following his sacred portion the waters increased; in the middle came the swift vessels. With steady mind Indra, mighty in strength, slew foes with his foremost might and struck them down in combat.
The waters flowed to provide the food of Indra, but (Vṛtra) increased in the midst of the navigable (rivers); then Indra, with his fatal and powerful shaft, slew Vṛtra, whose thought were ever turned towards him.
The waters flowed according to their nature; he raid the navigable streams waxed mighty. Then Indra, with his spirit concentrated, smote him for ever with his strongest weapon.
