vṛṣāyamāṇo'vṛṇīta somaṃ trikadrukeṣvapibatsutasya ā sāyakaṃ maghavādatta vajramahannenaṃ prathamajāmahīnām
Having yoked the mighty bulls he enkindled Soma; he poured it in the threefold vessels and first imparted the draught at the appointed season. Thus the liberal gave the bolt and the first oblation on that day.
Impetuous as a bull, he quaffed the Soma juice, he drank of the libation at the triple sacrifice. Maghvan took his shaft, the thunderbolt, and with it struck the first born of the clouds.
Impetuous as a bull, he chose the Soma and in three sacred beakers drank the juices. Maghavan grasped the thunder for his weapon, and smote to death this firstborn of the dragons.
