Now Indra declared the heroic deeds which he first performed, the bolt-like acts of might. He smote the mountain with his early strength and, with thunder, made the peaks tremble at the beginning of the festival.
I declare the former valorous deeds of Indra, which the thunderer has achieved; he clove the cloud; he cast the waters down (to earth); he broke (a way) for the torrents of the mountain.
I WILL declare the manly deeds of Indra, the first that he achieved, the Thunder-wielder. He slew the Dragon, then disclosed the waters, and cleft the channels of the mountain torrents.
