You, O Agni, first among the swift, came forth with bright deeds of the radiant one. May the singer-worshippers win you, the remover of enemies, bearing the great wealth and glory.
Agni, pre-eminent over the wind, become manifest to the worshipper, in approbation of his worship. Heaven and earth tremble (at your power); you have sustained the burden in the rite for which the priest was appointed; your, Vasu, has worshipped the venerable (gods).
To Matarisvan first thou, Agni, wast disclosed, and to Vivasvan through thy noble inward power. Heaven and Earth, Vasu! shook at the choosing of the Priest: the burthen thou didst bear, didst worship mighty Gods.
