Thou, Agni, art the sacrificial priest; thou feedest the waters and shinest with fourfold sight. Thou who dost run like a nightly oblation to the wolf, who createst charms and art the mind of the ritual — guard that.
Your, four-eyed Agni, blaze as the protector of the worshipper, who are at hand for the (security of the) uninterrupted (rite); you cherish in your mind the prayer of your adorer, who offers the oblation to you, the harmless, the benevolent.
Agni, thou art a guard close to the pious man; kindled art thou, four-eyed! for him who is unarmcd. With fond heart thou acceptest e'en the poor man's prayer, when he hath brought his gift to gain security.
