tattvā yāmi brahmaṇā vandamānastadā śāste yajamāno havirbhiḥ aheḷamāno varuṇeha bodhyuruśaṃsa mā na āyuḥ pra moṣīḥ
Having understood, I go praising with sacred rites; then the sacrificer is instructed by oblations. They, invoked at Varuṇa, were proclaimed; may they not deprive us of life.
Praising you with (devout) prayer, I implore you for that (life) which the instrumental tutor of the sacrifice solicits with oblations; Varuṇa, undisdainful, bestow a thought upon us; much-lauded, take not away our existence.
I ask this of thee with my prayer adoring; thy worshipper craves this with his oblation. Varuna, stay thou here and be not angry; steal not our life from us, O thou Wide-Ruler.
