How many earlier, how many later—how in both births were the poets born, who knows? He who bears all by mind—by what name does he move? He indeed performed the day’s deeds.
Which of these two, (Heaven and Earth), is prior which posterior; how were they engendered; (declare), sages, who knows this? verily, you uphold the universe of itself, and the days (and nights) revolve as if they had wheels.
WHETHER of these is elder, whether later? How were they born? Who knoweth it, ye sages? These of themselves support all things existing: as on a car the Day and Night roll onward.
