यद्ध॒ स्या त॑ इन्द्र श्रु॒ष्टिरस्ति॒ यया॑ ब॒भूथ॑ जरि॒तृभ्य॑ ऊ॒ती । मा नः॒ कामं॑ म॒हय॑न्त॒मा ध॒ग्विश्वा॑ ते अश्यां॒ पर्याप॑ आ॒योः
yaddha syā ta indra śruṣṭirasti yayā babhūtha jaritṛbhya ūtī mā naḥ kāmaṃ mahayantamā dhagviśvā te aśyāṃ paryāpa āyoḥ
What indeed was born that Indra may have heard, by which the ancients stood up exalted? Let not our desire be increased; all your powers reach out to us with their common prosperity.
Inasmuch, Indra, as the praise by which you are (induced to bestow) protection on your adorers is heard (by all), therefore disappoint not the desire (that would raise us) to greatness; may I obtain, through your (favour), all things that are obtainable by man.
IF, Indra, thou hast given that gracious hearing where with thou helpest those who sang thy praises. Blast not the wish that would exalt us may I gain all from thee, and pay all man's devotions.
