dano viśa indra mṛdhravācaḥ sapta yatpuraḥ śarma śāradīrdart ṛṇorapo anavadyārṇā yūne vṛtraṃ purukutsāya randhīḥ
Give wealth, O Indra; with powerful voice you threw back the sevenfold array that earlier stood in the fort. The ransom of debt the unbroken sea poured; you, slayer of Vrtra, bound the city’s bulwarks.
You have humbled the people, suing for pardon when you have destroyed their seven new cities; you the irrproachable have dispersed the flowing waters; you have destroyed Vṛtra for the sake of the youthful Purukutsa.
Indra, thou humbledst tribes that spake with insult by breaking down seven autumn forts, their refuge. Thou stirredst, Blameless! billowy floods, and gavest his foe a prey to youthful Purukutsa.
