Praise Indra who is foremost, the brave one, the generous, the best of charioteers. He who in the east fights in battle with bulls and warriors, dispersing the thick darkness.
Glorify that Indra who is mighty, who is a hero, possessing abundant wealth, standing in his car, a valiant combatant against adversaries, the wilder of the thunderbolt, the dispenser of all-enveloping gloom.
Praise thou that Indra who is truly mighty, the car-borne Warrior, Maghavan the Hero; Stronger in war than those who fight against him, borne by strong steeds, who kills enclosing darkness;
