Protect, O Indra, our comrades; be to men a leader with the Maruts and shining companions. With well-measured ones as allies, set this mighty herd to run—grant abundant sustenance to our cattle.

Do you, Indra, cherish the vigorous leaders (of the rains), be free from displeasure against the Maruts; overcoming (our) enemies along with the intelligent (Maruts), support us (so that) we may obtain food, strength, and long life.

Do thou, O Indra, guard the conquering Heroes, and rid thee of thy wrath against the Maruts, With them, the wise, victorious and bestowing. May we find strengthening food in full abundance.
