With sacrifice they offered sacrifice; the gods established those laws first. They dwell with mighty honour in the sky, where formerly the Sádhyas and the gods exist.
The gods sacrifice with sacrifice, for such are their first duties; those mighty ones assemble in heaven, where the divinities who are to be propitiated (by sacred rites) abide.
By means of sacrifice the Gods accomplished their sacrifice: these were the earliest ordinances. These Mighty Ones attained the height of heaven, there where the Sadhyas, Gods of old, are dwelling.
