apaśyaṃ gopāmanipadyamānamā ca parā ca pathibhiścarantam sa sadhrīcīḥ sa viṣūcīrvasāna ā varīvarti bhuvaneṣvantaḥ
I saw him entering the herd, moving on the outer path and the far ways; he, like a plough-peg and an awl, turned through the worlds within.
I have beheld the unwearied protector of the universe, the sun, travelling upwards, the downwards by various paths;invested with aggregative and diffusive radiance, he revolves in the midst of the regions.
I saw the Herdsman, him who never stumbles, approaching by his pathways and departing. He, clothed with gathered and diffusive splendour, within the worlds continually travels.
