गौर॑मीमे॒दनु॑ व॒त्सं मि॒षन्तं॑ मू॒र्धानं॒ हिङ्ङ॑कृणो॒न्मात॒वा उ॑ । सृक्वा॑णं घ॒र्मम॒भि वा॑वशा॒ना मिमा॑ति मा॒युं पय॑ते॒ पयो॑भिः
gauramīmedanu vatsaṃ miṣantaṃ mūrdhānaṃ hiṅṅakṛṇonmātavā u sṛkvāṇaṃ gharmamabhi vāvaśānā mimāti māyuṃ payate payobhiḥ
Like a white-woolled mother mixing milk, the mighty cow-maiden lowed; pouring forth warm streams she nourished them with waters and milk.
The cow bellows for her calf, (who stands) with winking eyes, and lows as (she proceeds to lick his forehead; she utters a cry, as, anxious, she sees the moisture in the corners of his mouth, and nourishes him with her milk.
The cow hath lowed after her blinking youngling; she licks his forehead, as she lows, to form it. His mouth she fondly calls to her warm udder, and suckles him with milk while gently lowing.
