च॒कृ॒वांस॑ ऋभव॒स्तद॑पृच्छत॒ क्वेद॑भू॒द्यः स्य दू॒तो न॒ आज॑गन् । य॒दावाख्य॑च्चम॒साञ्च॒तुरः॑ कृ॒तानादित्त्वष्टा॒ ग्नास्व॒न्तर्न्या॑नजे
cakṛvāṃsa ṛbhavastadapṛcchata kvedabhūdyaḥ sya dūto na ājagan yadāvākhyaccamasāñcaturaḥ kṛtānādittvaṣṭā gnāsvantarnyānaje
The artisans (Rbhus) asked: 'Where are the beginnings? The messenger did not announce it.' They said the knives and the fourfold cut were fashioned by Tvastar, called so; the fires within were named anew.
So doing Ṛbhus, you inquired: where, indeed, is he who came to us as a messenger? When Tvaṣṭā observed the one ladle become four, he was immediately lost amongst the women.
When thus, O Rbhus, ye had done ye questioned thus, Whither went he who came to us a messenger? Then Tvastar, when he viewed the four wrought chalices, concealed himself among the Consorts of the Gods.
