ता ईं॑ वर्धन्ति॒ मह्य॑स्य॒ पौंस्यं॒ नि मा॒तरा॑ नयति॒ रेत॑से भु॒जे । दधा॑ति पु॒त्रोऽव॑रं॒ परं॑ पि॒तुर्नाम॑ तृ॒तीय॒मधि॑ रोच॒ने दि॒वः
tā īṃ vardhanti mahyasya pauṃsyaṃ ni mātarā nayati retase bhuje dadhāti putro'varaṃ paraṃ piturnāma tṛtīyamadhi rocane divaḥ
They increase my progeny; the mother leads forth semen into the arm. The son places the second name of the father, the third is bright above in heaven.
These (oblations) augment his (Indra's), mighty manhood, by which he fits the parents (of all creatures heaven and earth), for genitive ration and enjoyment; whereby, in the upper region of the sky, the son has an inferior and superior appellation, and a third (name) of father.
These offerings increase his mighty manly strength: he brings both Parents down to share the genial flow. He lowers, though a son, the Father's highest name; the third is that which is high in the light of heaven.
