They gave food and drink; Agni kindled my desire and performed my work. They enjoyed all actions of that other; the doer bore praise of the maker.
Let not (my enemies) prevail against me, when presenting acceptable (oblations), for (Agni) is desirous of my so offered adoration, and all they (the gods) are gratified by the (pious) acts of me, the reciter of their praise, and the celebrator (of the sacrifice).
They shall not harm the man who brings thee praises: such as I am, Agni my help approves me. All acts of mine shall they accept with pleasure, laudation from the singer who presents it.
