kathā te agne śucayanta āyordadāśurvājebhirāśuṣāṇāḥ ubhe yattoke tanaye dadhānā ṛtasya sāmanraṇayanta devāḥ
How, O Agni, didst thou make the metals pure, the gifts swift with riches and spoils? Both those which were placed on the offspring, giving to the son the rites—thus the gods upheld the ṛta and the chant.
How have your shining and evaporating (rays), Agni, supported life (and supplied) food; so that, enjoying both, the devout (worshippers), possessing sons and grandsons, may repeat the hymns of the sacrifice.
How, Agni, have the radiant ones, aspiring, endued thee with the vigour of the living, So that on both sides fostering seed and offspring, the Gods may joy in Holy Law's fulfilment?
