Whatsoever of Mitra-Varuna’s circle was set against falsehood was given by his own Mind and prowess. We two saw the shining wealth in the middle of the battlefield. May the thoughts and minds protect by their own bulls, and the Soma’s guardians by their own protectors.
Mitra and Varuṇa, bestow (upon us) abundantly that unenduring water which you obtain from the sun, through your own energy; through the inherent energy of the vigorous; may we thus behold your golden (forms) in our halls of sacrifice, (brought thither) by our sacred rites, and by our thoughts and senses (intent upon you); by our senses (intent upon offering) the Soma.
As there ye, Mitra, Varuna, above the true have taken to yourselves the untrue with your mind, with wisdom's mental energy, So in the seats wherein ye dwell have we beheld the Golden One, Not with our thoughts or spirit, but with these our eyes, yea, with the eyes that Soma gives.
