May shining ones pure and quicklike, the bright gods, long for heaven's strong streams; many sought the earth's waters. You, O blessed, are measured in ten powers. From you the world is upheld; you sustain by righteousness.
For you, the bright, pure, quick-flowing (Soma), potent for exhilaration, are eager for the (fire of) oblation; are eager for the cloud (showering) waters. The timid and anxious (worshipper) praises you, who are auspicious, for (driving away) thieves; for you defend (us) from all beings, (as the reward) of our righteousness; you protect us from the fear of evil spirits, (as the reward) of our righteousness.
For thee the pure bright quickly-flowing Soma-drops, strong in their heightening power, hasten to mixthemselves, hasten to the water to be mixed. To thee the weary coward prays for luck that he may speed away. Thou by thy law protectest us from every world, yea, from the world of highest Gods.
