वा॒युर्यु॑ङ्क्ते॒ रोहि॑ता वा॒युर॑रु॒णा वा॒यू रथे॑ अजि॒रा धु॒रि वोळ्ह॑वे॒ वहि॑ष्ठा धु॒रि वोळ्ह॑वे । प्र बो॑धया॒ पुरं॑धिं जा॒र आ स॑स॒तीमि॑व । प्र च॑क्षय॒ रोद॑सी वासयो॒षसः॒ श्रव॑से वासयो॒षसः॑
vāyuryuṅkte rohitā vāyuraruṇā vāyū rathe ajirā dhuri voḷhave vahiṣṭhā dhuri voḷhave pra bodhayā puraṃdhiṃ jāra ā sasatīmiva pra cakṣaya rodasī vāsayoṣasaḥ śravase vāsayoṣasaḥ
The Wind was girded: ruddy or crimson, the Wind at the chariot moved the axle; highest was the axle. The awakener drove like one entering the city; like one who sees quickly and the plants of dawn, the ears of the grass heard.
Vāyu yokes to his car his two red horses; Vāyu (yokes) his purple steeds; Vāyu (yokes) his two unwearied (coursers) to his car to bear their burden; for most able are they to bear the burden. Arouse Vāyu the intelligent (sacrificer), as a gallant (awakens) his sleeping mistress; summon heaven and earth; light up the dawn; light up the dawn (to receive) your sacrificial food.
Two red steeds Vayu yokes, Vayu two purple steeds, swift-footed, to the chariot, to the pole to draw, most able, at the pole, to draw. Wake up intelligence, as when a lover wakes his sleeping love. Illumine heaven and earth, make thou the Dawns to shine, for glory make the Dawns to shine.
