The sun was set in the cave, hidden like a treasure, wrapped in the womb at the rock’s end in the inner ray. The thunderbolt went like a stallion among cows, darkness was gathered like a rolling mass. Indra uncovered the waters; the doors of desire were opened and surrounded.

He (Indra) found the (Soma) treasure (that had been brought) from heaven, and hidden like the nestlings of a bird in a rock; amidst (a pile of) vast rocks enclosed (by bushes); desiring to partake (of the beverage), the thunderer (found it), as the chief of the Aṅgirasas (discovered) the hiding-plural ce of the cows; he opened the doors of (the waters, the sources of) food, when shut up (in the clouds, the sources of) food, that were spread (over the earth).

He found the treasure brought from heaven that lay concealed, close-hidden, like the nestling of a bird, in rock, enclosed in never-enffing rock. Best Angiras, bolt-armed, he strove to win, as 'twere, the stall of kine; So Indra hath disclosed the food concealed, disclosed the doors, the food that lay concealed.
